Rejuvenating the central part of the face through the lower eyelid incision is the most powerful tool in controling the result of the blepharoplsty (eyelid rejuvenation). A comparison of the before and after pictures shows the elimination of lines of demarcation between the lower lid and the cheek. This patient does not have any incisions other than the eyelid ones (no facelift scars).

For the younger patient presenting with swelling of the lower lids and a "tear trough" deformity (pronounced line of demarcation between lower lids and cheek), the mid-facelift performed through the eyelid incision helps in the blending of eyelid and cheek skin. The elimination of shadows rejuvenates the eyes.

This is a "four lid" surgery without a mid-facelift. The change is obvious and quite rejuvenating. The traditional eyelid surgery works well in younger patients without downward cheek displacement and with well-supported lower lids (the so-called Positive Vector).

Straight forward eyelid surgery without mid-facelift. Even though the patient might have benefited from a brow lift maneuver, a tastefully executed upper lid surgery can positively alter the brightness of the gaze.
